Green Firecrackers are now Available this Diwali

Every year Supreme Court of India ban Firecrackers in Delhi-NCR, which was a good step to curb increasing air pollution but was a temporary solution. This year scientists developed Green Firecrackers which are not only cheap in price but also produce less pollution. Sale of these Firecrackers has been already started in Delhi-NCR and all over India.

What are Green crackers?

As name suggest, firecrackers which produces less pollution is known as green crackers. They have 30-35% lower smoke emission than traditional Firecrackers.

Will these green crackers be costly?

NO, the cost of green crackers will be less or equal to old ones because green crackers have less polluting chemicals like barium, sulfur, etc resulting in very low cost of crackers.


How we can so sure that they will produce less pollution?

Green crackers do not contain harmful chemical that would cause air pollution. In green crackers the commonly used polluting chemical like Aluminum, Barium, Potassium nitrate and Carbon have either been removed or sharply reduced to slow down the emissions by 15-30%.

How people can differentiate them from old ones?

Science behind Green Firecrackers is developed by CSIR- National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) which was continuously working on the projected since 2018.
